Unique in northeastern Ontario , Smoothwater is an intimate, family-run, home-lodge that specializes in low-impact adventures featuring ancient trails, extensive canoe routes and famous old growth forests.

We promote organic cuisine and regional fare that is highly acclaimed by our guests. Original art, garden flowers and elegant antiques intermingle with personal curiosities and historic artifacts to complete our lakeside atmosphere.
 

In winter Smoothwater offers cross country skiing, snow shoeing, winter camping, and cabin to cabin skiing on 50 kms. of enchanting backcountry trails.

Guests are lodged in private rooms, each tastefully appointed with healing colour, original art, quilts and duvets. Bunkhouses and trail cabins are available for the more rustically inclined.

Small conferences, meetings, and special social events are held in our beautiful Gathering Hall.
